積水爛根 搶救200歲芒果樹

高雄市養工處搶救楠梓區翠屏里樹齡有200年的芒果樹。

高雄市楠梓區翠屏里有棵樹齡200年的芒果樹，今年以來遇雨腹地積水爛根，還有白蟻侵蝕，養工處派員搶救老樹，最近再勘查積水已改善。

工務局養工處以中興大學教授劉啟東發表的水刀鑽孔專利技術鑽入透水層，埋設透氣管並在管徑外圍埋填礫石，改善排水及透氣，再將白蟻侵蝕枯萎枝幹鋸除清創，樹根周邊埋設防治白蟻藥劑，希望改善老樹生長情形。

芒果樹就在楠梓區翠屏里益群橋後勁溪旁，當地陳里長表示，這棵芒果老樹是當地地標，但因植生地點周邊覆土較低，導致每年汛期來臨時，都會造成腹地積水爛根情形，乾季時又遭受白蟻侵蝕，以致逐年有枯萎現象，這次經過搶救應該可以恢復往日的綠意盎然。
