（中央社記者汪淑芬台北21日電）長榮航空總經理鄭傳義今天說，長榮航空將新增美國休士頓航線，預定明年7月1日首航，初期每週4班。

長榮航空2013年6月加入星空聯盟，競爭力明顯提升，北美市場的商務人士及經台北轉往東南亞的中轉人次都跟著成長。

長榮航空今年5月起陸續大幅增加包括美國洛杉磯、舊金山、紐約及加拿大溫哥華、多倫多等航班。

鄭傳義說，現在北美市場幾乎無淡旺季，且載客率都可達8、9成以上。

北美已成為長榮航空長程線的重要市場，預計2016年還要開航芝加哥。1031021
