世界衛生組織(WHO)25日呼籲中國改善空氣品質，並在北京的空氣汙染連續第六天達到有害水準之際，敦促北京居民不要外出。

WHO駐中國代表施賀德說，北京近日出現的嚴重霧霾令人擔憂。世衛組織一直在與中國有關部門聯繫，討論污染問題及解決該問題的措施。自20日以來，嚴重霧霾持續籠罩中國北部和中部多數地區。

據美國駐北京大使館的數據，截至25日晚間，微小有害顆粒物PM2.5的濃度，在過去24小時平均水準是每立方米452微克，是WHO建議的25微克安全水準的18倍。
