不具勞工政策背景的台北市副市長陳雄文出任勞動部長，跌破眾人眼鏡，勞團更批評「不尊重勞工」。不過，綜觀過去，即使擁有相關背景的部長，也不見得做得好；既然願接下這個重擔，除了能力外，重點就是有心。

勞工委員會今年升格為勞動部，改變的不光是組織名稱，組織內涵其實也應有新的思維。勞動關係中，勞工、企業雖經常處於拔河狀態，但勞工政策也與企業發展相輔相成。

早期勞動法令不完備，勞工主管機關自然會被期待多向勞工傾斜一些。隨著時代演進、全球化的浪潮，現在的勞資關係越趨複雜，除了工時長、薪資低之外，勞動部還必須面對青年高失業、派遣勞工等棘手的社會問題。

陳雄文曾任台北市產業發展局長，具備產業背景，是許多歷任勞委會主委沒有的專業。勞工與企業很多時候也是零與一的關係，要如何找到零點五，考驗陳雄文的智慧。

勞動事務經緯萬端，陳雄文勢必沒有蜜月期，但外界不妨先看他怎麼做，再來批評也不遲。
