百萬年難得一見 彗星掠火星

（法新社華盛頓19日電） 1個大如小山的彗星今天即將掠過火星，美國國家航空暨太空總署（NASA）希望太空船能拍到這場百萬年難得一見的太空相會，好從中得知太陽系起源的線索。

這顆「賽丁泉彗星」（Siding Spring , C/2013A1）預料會在美國東部夏令時間今天下午2時27分（台北時間20日凌晨2時27分）掠過火星，屆時彗星與火星的距離大約是14萬1600公里。

天文學家不認為賽丁泉彗星與火星的距離會近到相撞，但希望兩者間的距離，能夠靠近到可供太空船拍攝照片，好從中得知太陽系起源的線索。

那是因為，一般認為賽丁泉彗星源於數十億年前的奧特雲（Oort Cloud），也就是包圍太陽系外圍區塊的「球體」結冰雲團。
