歷經莫拉克颱風的侵襲，屏東泰武國小變得更茁壯，古謠傳唱隊得到金曲獎肯定，族語推動成為全國模範。屏東縣首創「原住民族課程發展中心」，選定泰武國小，預計五年後，成為全台第一所原住民實驗小學。(陳映竹報導)

屏東縣首創「原住民族課程發展中心」，以在地本土文化出發自編教材，還選定泰武國小在五年後成為排灣族實驗小學。

屏東縣教育處長顏慶祥說，現在課程都以漢人和都市為主，其實讓孩子了解自己部落祖靈的文化，反倒增長自信心，學習態度更好，自編教材試教二年成效還不錯。

泰武國小在莫拉克風災後，看見了部落的危機，借助部落的耆老、家長、社會團體的協助，族語推動成為全國模範，附設幼兒園的學習從教室延伸到部落，規劃多元學習活動，落實在地文化課程，今年也入圍教育部103年度教學卓越獎，全國共有七校入圍。
