日本媒體日刊工業新聞26日報導，美國豪華電動車製造商特斯拉(Tesla Motors)日本法人Tesla Motors Japan於25日宣布，電動轎車「Model S (見圖)」將自9月8日起開始於日本市場進行交車。

報導指出，Model S於2011年5月開始在日本開放預購，而預購的消費者在歷經了3年的等待之後，終於可在下個月拿到車子了。Tesla Motors Japan未公佈Model S於日本的預購數量。

據報導，Model S分別於2012年6月於美國、2013年10月於歐洲、2014年4月於中國大陸市場進行交車，目前全球累計交車數量達約4萬台。

Model S的電池容量分為60kWh(續航距離最長為390km)、85kWh(502km)兩種，其中60kWh車種日本含稅售價為823萬日圓起、85kWh為933萬日圓起。

9to5Mac 8月21日報導，美國豪華電動車製造商特斯拉即將在幾個月內對電動轎車「Model S 」的韌體進行更新，屆時將允許駕駛人用iPhone發動Model S。

日本消費者向來是蘋果產品的愛用者，故若上述消息為真，對Tesla Motors Japan來說，將是一大賣點。
