騎士主場迎戰熱身賽第5個對手小牛，最終以102：108落胸，4連勝就此終止。

這場比賽，洛夫（Kevin Love）休戰，主力控衛厄文（Kyrie Irving）傷愈復出，砍下23分5助攻，詹姆斯（LeBron James）出手6次，得到12分，湯普森（Tristan Thompson）先發砍下17分11籃板。

小牛6人得分上雙，帕森斯（Chandler Parsons）表現相當出色，全場15投7中搶下19分5籃板4助攻，而且沒有出現任何失誤，諾維茨基（Dirk Nowitzki ）得16分9籃板。

首節雙方火力全開，比分交替上漲，小牛以37：26領先。第二節，小牛經建立起15分領先優勢，騎士猛追，小牛進攻突然熄火，騎士打出一波10：0攻勢，比分變成53：49，關鍵時刻還是得諾維茨基出馬，上半場，小牛反以56：55領先。

小牛第三節又把比分差距拉開，80：64，詹姆斯連得8分，追回一些失分，三節結束，小牛以88：78領先進入末節，騎士反撲7：0攻勢，兩隊只差3分，但未能抓住機會一鼓作氣逆轉，讓小牛再次拉開差距，騎士最后拼死反撲，始終邁不過3分差距這道天塹。
