若停捕鯨 保育者轉守護圓鱈

（法新社雪梨17日電） 保育團體澳洲海洋守護協會（Sea Shepherd Australia）今天說，如果日本今年取消在南極洲的捕鯨行動，守護協會將轉而守護南冰洋的美露鱈（市場上常冠以圓鱈名稱販售）。

澳洲海洋守護協會10年來每到南半球的夏天便緊盯日本的魚叉船，協會說，他們仍將密切關注所有捕鯨船。

不過如果東京當局恪守不獵殺鯨的承諾，守護協會將轉而關注美露鱈和南極鱈魚的非法捕撈。

美露鱈生活在南極海域水深300至2500公尺處，屬於相當長壽的物種，但也因為成熟期緩慢，很容易受捕漁行動影響。

澳洲海洋守護協會說，澳洲和紐西蘭當局加強監管和巡邏，已改善部分海域的美露鱈生活環境。

協會表示，但在南冰洋偏遠且無政府管轄的地帶。盜獵者仍經常換掉船上的國旗混淆視聽，然後持續非法捕魚。（譯者：中央社張詠晴）
