染伊波拉撿回一命 美醫師批世衛官僚

在非洲感染伊波拉病毒、緊急返美治療痊癒的布蘭特利醫生（Kent Brantly），17日在美國國會聽證會說明伊波拉疫情第一手實況，他欣見美國擔當領導任務，但也不留情痛批世界衛生組織（WHO）「官僚」，對打擊伊波拉病毒領導無方，「說得比做得多」。

16日在白宮與美國總統歐巴馬會談的布蘭特利說，他欣見美國軍方增派3000人前往西非疫區，也贊同歐巴馬提議對聯邦疾病防治中心（CDC）打擊伊波拉增加8800萬美元（約台幣24億元）撥款，但不滿意目前唯一確定的承諾，只是25個床位的伊波拉治療小組和急救設備。

布蘭特利指出，疫情最前線病床嚴重不足，他曾目睹隔離病患在孤獨、恐怖中死亡，因此以醫師和病患雙重身分向國會議員疾呼：這是全球健康危機，也是人道危機，「行動刻不容緩」。

布蘭特利是首位接受實驗藥Zmapp獲救的伊波拉病患，他感謝製藥公司Mapp在這波伊波拉爆發前就投入解藥研發，但此藥仍在實驗階段，對他有效不等於能治癒其他患者。
