尼克熱身賽第一戰慘敗20分，顯然球員們陷入「三角戰術」的迷霧之中。學會這套戰術，還要多久？JR Smith的答案是，還得好幾個月，到明年一月才能融會貫通。

「我們得了解隊友如何跑位、學習戰術，需要幾個月的時間。」Smith說。

熱身賽第一場，尼克團隊命中率4成1，不如塞爾提克的4成9。另外，尼克出現28次失誤，以86比106慘敗。

「我覺得我們想太多了，而不是好好打球，」Smith說，「其實我們都知道該如何發展攻勢，但得拋開興奮跟緊張，才不會一直失誤。」
